Global Timeline was designed to help students of world history explore the story of our past. The timeline spans the major civilizations from about 2000 BC until now. It shows the big picture of world history and enables "zooming in" to see, for example, all the movies of a period. The main tables are Minor Periods, Events, and Movies. The timelines of the four Major Periods show all 444 Minor Periods. Each period is linked to all movies and events of that period. The Books table shows about 300 books and lecture series that were used to build the database. The Movies table has 107 documentaries and 792 movies and 119 miniseries.
