The first five episodes in the first season were: Beyond Death; Apocalypse; Creation; and Why Does Evil Exist?; Morgan Freeman travels to the ruins of ancient Egypt, to archeological sites in Iraq, Turkey and Israel, to the Gandes River and other sites in India, to the Stonehenge, and to the cities of Rome and Jerusalem to ask experts the fundamental religious questions: Is there life after death?; Will the world come to an end?; Who is God?; Can science and religion agree on creation?; Did civilization make religion of did God make civilization?
