Synopsis

The movie opens with this line written by Chris Hedges, "The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction, for war is a drug." In the second to last scene, William James is at home talking with his baby son, who is happily playing with his toys. James tells his son that as he grows older, he will learn to love things less and less as he becomes disillusioned with the things of the world until someday he may become like his father, who now loves only two things, or maybe only one thing. In the last scene, Sergeant James is getting out of a helicopter to start another year as a bomb technician in Iraq.
