War & Peace (2016)
Synopsis
"As the Russian conflict with Napoleon reaches its peak, five aristocratic families face the possibility of their lives being changed forever." [IMDb] When Pierre meets a Feemason, he admits that he hasn't been able to find God through reason. The gentleman tells him, "God is not apprehended by reason but by life." In episode 6, Pierre learns much from a pure-hearted peasant and his dog who befriend him. In the last scene, Pierre says, "They say sufferings are misfortunes. But if I were asked if I would stay as I was before I was taken prisoner or go through it again, I would say, for God's sake, let me be a prisoner again. . . . When our lives are knocked off course, we imagine everything as lost. But it is only the start of something new and good. As long as there is life, there is happiness. There is a great deal, a great deal to come."
