This movie is an important creative attempt to see the savageness and superstitions of the Mayan/Aztecs and the gentle innocence of the forest-dwelling Indians. Great scene in which the father advises his son not to be infected by the fear of the tribe that passed through their territory; Also memorable scene of the European ships anchoring in the Mexican harbor;
