Christopher Wren was a contemporary of Isaac Newton, Robert Hook, Robert Boyle, Thomas Hobbes, and Henry Purcell. He was a scientist, mathematician, and astronomer. His masterpiece was St. Paul's Cathedral. This cathedral had burned down during the Great Fire of 1666. The cathedral took 36 years to complete.
