Bound up with this is the industrialization of Asia, very much driven by the need of their national regimes to provide better living standards to the peoples of China, India, Indonesia, and Pakistan—how exactly do you create prosperity for three billion people without destroying much of the globe? Even collectively we may not be able to solve this critical problem, but what is sure is that no single nation can do it alone.
