Excerpts from Books and Wikipedia
"One key part of the city after another fell, until the administrative center, the Hotel de Ville, was taken. Almost at once the politicians set up a provisional government. It was all over except the abdication of the king, a formality that occurred the following day. Charles X, who had reigned from 1824, had been ultra-royalist. He had a traditional coronation at Rheims, introduced the death penalty for blasphemy, and seemed to believe in' the divine right of kings.' It was almost as if the Revolution of 1789 and Napoleon had never happened." [Furtado: 1001 Days]
