Synopsis
"I first purchased the Nothiger World History Chart around 1990. At the time, I was reading about ancient Greece and Rome, as well about China and other civilizations. I was really interested “the when, where, and who,” of history across the world and across time. While in a science-themed store, I was lucky enough to first glance at The World History Chart, and immediately realized that this was the best way to quickly see the “big picture” of history. The fold-out-time-scale concept (it's about four feet long) showing history's most important civilizations and people and their achievements, is brilliant. Nothing published before the Chart made it so easy to see what people were doing, and when." [Amazon]
Accompanied by useful 46 page book summarizing different periods and civilizations: Part I (The Emergence of Four Major Old World Civilizations after 1000 BC); Part II (Development of the Major Civilizations 500 BC - AD 1500); and Part III (The Birth of Global History);
